22-Day Vegan Challenge WithChocolate-Flavored Protein Barand Sliced Bananas
It's very clear from Beyoncé's Grammy
performance Sunday that Jay Z's wife
takes very good care of her body.
And just how does Blue Ivy Carters
mama pull off a fit while still curvy look
like that? It might be thanks in part the
22-day vegan stint she did ahead of
Hov's 44th birthday in December. And it
certainly seems, from her latest
Instagram post, that she's embarking on
another 22-day challenge of eating no
meat or animal products whatsoever!
On Jan. 29, the 32-year-old "Drunk in
Love" singer shared a snap of her
healthy snack—a peanut butter and
chocolate chip flavored vegan protein
bar bar cut up with sliced bananas on
top. Bey captioned the shot of her no-
gluten, no-soy, no-dairy snack simply,
"#22daysvegan." (We're assuming this is
vegan stint no. 2 and not a throwback to
the first one—that'd be odd, even within
the foodie culture of Instagram.)
So why is Beyoncé going vegan for 22
days, as opposed to 21 or 23? Hubby Jay
Z explained on his Life + Times blog
before challenge no. 1 that
"psychologists have said it takes 21 days
to make or break a habit. On the 22nd
day, you've found the way."
He said at the time switching to a "plant-
based" lifestyle "just feels right," calling
it "a spiritual and physical cleanse" of
sorts.
No word yet on whether Hov is joining
Queen Bey in challenge no. 2!
